The Pioneer genes are clear in the CDJ-1000MK3. The deck offers the same robust build beloved by club owners and DJs, is finished in the familiar high-quality polished look and remains faithful to the clean, clear layout that has become the accepted format for tabletop CD decks. But the subtle revisions add more intuition, make it easier to transport music, and improve track info: refinements that make cueing, looping, scratching and stretching a track easier than ever.

With full MP3 support including VBR files, intelligent features, such as the direct folder search button, allow DJs to quickly access files within folders on the disc for intuitive, fast cueing. A total wide tempo range (+70% to 100%) also gives greater control than many competitor models.

Along with multimedia cards, SD cards are now also compatible with the CDJ-1000MK3 so that HOT CUES, HOT LOOP points and WAVE display data can be easily stored and loaded.

The CDJ-1000MK3 includes a unique JOG feeling adjust (to the top right of the JOG wheel). It tailors the deck to performers' individual styles by altering the resistance of the wheel, which benefits from a new metallic 'non-slip' finish. The visibility and detail of the information shown on the 360 deg. JOG Display is also improved: the fluorescent display has been raised, increasing brightness. The cue marker is larger and new 45 deg. angle marks make it easier for scratch DJs to time their effects. The track display has similarly advanced. Its resolution has been doubled, the lighting is multicolour and fluorescent and, as well as displaying the total number of tracks and track position, the WAVE data and playing address details are extended so that a DJ can see a track's entire length at a glance.

HOT CUE is now partnered by a new HOT LOOP feature that stores up to three loops per track. The buttons are backlit orange for the loop and green for the cues while the re-loop button is now also backlit. A further addition is 'resume play': the deck will restart playing from the same point if a CD is ejected accidentally.

In keeping with the high quality components of the CDJ-1000MK3, gold RCA connectors are fitted along with a digital out for connection to digital mixers such as the DJM-800 / DJM-1000, ensuring the highest level of sonic purity available. Subtle design changes like the metallic master tempo button also mark the player as the third generation of the industry standard deck.

The new features add to the unique capabilities of the CDJ-1000MK2 and ensure that, as single tabletop CD systems cement their position as the dominant market platform, Pioneer continues to define the mark for digital DJ'ing: a level that has again been raised by listening to and acting on feedback from DJs.

Auto Fader Start - Connecting the DJM-300S to the CDJ Series allows you to take advantage of Fader Start Play; by increasing the Fader, on the mixer, the player will automatically override the Pause control and start the music immediately. Fader Start Play also works during Cross Fading, an industry first that brings out the best of sampler-style music. Fader Back Cue Play - When the DJM-300S is used with the CDJ500's, the Fader or Cross Fader controls can also return you automatically to a designated cue point if desired. By fading Cross Fader back and forth or Fader up and down quickly, you can give the "essence" of scratching a certain point on a vinyl record.

Balanced XLR plus secondary RCA outputs, plus selectable mono out also on XLR and TRS. CH1-4 feed mix1 or mix2. Stereo channels feed mix1 direct or via the X-fader. Mix1 can route to mix2.
• 6 Auxiliary Sends - 6 aux sends to [TRS] outputs for monitors or FX sends. Mic / line CH 1-4 have individual sends and stereo CH 5-10 have aux 1 & 2 individual mono sum and auxes 3 & 4, 5 & 6 paired with L to odd, R to even. Aux sends 1-4 are always pre-fade, while auxes 5 & 6 are switchable pre/post fader. Additional controls allow aux sends to track the X-fader post fade.
• 4 Stereo 2 Mono Zone Outs - Mix1, mix2, post x-fader aux 3 & 4 and 5 & 6 can provide stereo mixes on rotary controls. Post x-fader aux 1 & aux 2 can provide mono mix outputs with level controls.
• 4 Band EQ - Mono channels have 2 swept frequency mids. Stereo channels have EQ-on switch and all frequency sections have +6dB boost to preserve headroom and -26dB cut for creative mixing.
• VCA Cross Fader - Conductive plastic, high quality 45mm Penny & Giles fader with curve switchable to cut or dip. Stereo channels can be assigned to X (left) side with green led indication or Y (right) side with yellow led. VCA operation means wear and tear does not affect audio. Drop-in replacements. Pan trim control for imbalance.
• Voltage Controlled Filters - 2 filters [1 for each side of the x-fader] with choice of High Pass, Band Pass, Low Pass or multiples e.g. notch. Resonance control - adjusts Q from 'mild to wild'. Sweep controls from 100Hz to 20kHz with blue led on switch.
• External Input - TRS jack inputs via level control to mix1, mix2 or monitor.
• Engineer / DJ's Toolbox - 2 high powered headphone outputs with level. Booth output on TRS with level. Monitor section has 8-way switch bank to select monitor source. 12 segment 3 colour bar metering. Channel cue overrides the monitor selected in the phones [and booth if Cue Enable is pressed]. Split Cue sends cue signals to left and selected program to right. Mute kills local monitor output [option for -20dB action]. Mono sum button for phase and compatibility check.
